Let us tell you that recently, the Union Home Ministry has started a complaint platform and National Helpline 155260 to prevent financial loss due to cyber fraud.
The national helpline and reporting platform provides a mechanism for victims of cyber fraud to report such cases to prevent loss of their hard earned money, the ministry said in a statement.
The helpline was launched on a limited scale on April 1, 2021. Helpline 155260 and its reporting platform have been commissioned by Indian Cyber Crime Coordination Center (I4C) under Ministry of Home Affairs with the help and support of Reserve Bank of India (RBI), all major banks, payments banks, wallets and online merchants.
It is currently being used by seven states and union territories (Chhattisgarh, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, Telangana, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh) with 155260, covering more than 35 percent of the country’s population. It is being started in other states to stop the flow of money duped by the fraudsters.
