Three More Arrested in Terror Angle: ATS also arrested Shakeel, Mohammad Mustakim and Mohammad Mueed on Wednesday in the conspiracy of serial blasts in several districts of UP including the capital Lucknow. ATS officials say that all three are associated with Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind, a militant outfit backed by al-Qaeda in Kashmir. Earlier on Sunday, the ATS had arrested the terrorists of the same organization, Minhaj and Masiruddin. A total of 5 arrests have been made in this case so far, while many are being searched including the commander of Ansar Ghazwat ul Hind, Umar Halmandi.
The ATS was looking for terrorist Minhaz and Naseeruddin’s accomplice Shakeel for three days. On Wednesday morning, the ATS team nabbed him from near Buddha Park in old Lucknow. Shakeel is a resident of Jantanagar locality of Wazirganj. The information of his arrest caused a stir in Jantanagar. The family members have accused Shakeel of being implicated in a fake case. After Shakeel’s arrest, the ATS team also arrested Mohammad Mustakim, a resident of Madeeganj on Sitapur Road, and Mohammad Mueed, a resident of New Haiderganj, Campbell Road, Thakurganj. Mohammad Mustaqeem is originally from Muzaffarnagar.

ATS officials said that Mohammad Mustakim had full knowledge of plotting the serial blasts of Minhaj and Maseeruddin but he neither informed the police nor the security agencies about it. According to ATS officials, Mohammad Mustakim actively assisted the terrorists in their plot. Shakeel used to work for terrorists under the guise of driving e-rickshaw. He had made preparations to have a cooker bomb plant in his own e-rickshaw for the serial blast. He had a major role in arranging the arms for Minhaj and Masiruddin for the terrorist attack. Apart from this, Muid had provided a pistol to Minhaj through Mustakim. The ATS team is interrogating all three.
Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind is an organization originally from Kashmir which works to carry out the nefarious designs of Al Qaeda in the Indian subcontinent. At the behest of al-Qaeda, Ghazwat-ul-Hind’s commander Umar Halmandi had hatched a plot of blasts in UP. He entrusted the responsibility of this work to the terrorists of the organization, Minhaj and Naseeruddin.
