Patna: Bihar’s Building Construction Department Minister Ashok Choudhary on Thursday described Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s announcement of reserving 33 percent seats for girls in engineering-medical colleges of the state as historic. Also, this decision of the Chief Minister has been called a milestone for the efforts of women empowerment.

Ashok Choudhary said that by reserving at least one-third seats for girl students in the engineering and medical colleges of the state, the number of girl students in these colleges will increase further. With this decision of the Chief Minister, a new avenue of self-reliance will open for the girls of the state, the way will be paved.
He said that Bihar, which has a vast area and population density, has half the population of women and our visionary Chief Minister’s decisions like Mukhyamantri Balika Cycle Yojna and Dress Yojana to encourage poor girls of the state to go to school show that with what sensitivity. Along with this, he keeps trying to make half the population of the state self-reliant and empowered.
