Government Hospital in Kanpur: The third wave of Corona is near. The health department is claiming to make all the preparations, but the non-covid-19 hospital and all the problems remain the same. The ICU is running, but due to not being recorded in the records of the government, the trained staff is not available to Ursala Hospital. At the same time, there are ventilators in PICU, but due to lack of anesthetist, patients are not getting its facility and in relation to all these issues, many public representatives have also raised the matter at the government level. But till now no papers have been moved in this regard nor has there been any change in the status of Pediatric ICU.
Not getting budget
Due to not being recorded in the records of ICU, the budget for the equipment and other things used is also not available. There is no separate intensivist for ICU. The work is being carried out from the General Staff only and from the personnel posted on contract. There is also no trained staff for PICU. Serious patients coming to the hospital are being referred, while many pediatricians are posted here. Anil Nigam, CMS of the hospital, says that many correspondences have been done with the government in this regard.
ICU running with jugaad
However, before the third wave of possible Kovid at Ursala Hospital, a capacity of 500 liters per minute has started. 35 beds are separately reserved for children. In which 10 beds are from PICU. Although Ursala’s ICU has not yet been approved by the government, and many disorders are being run by juggling.
This is what the administration has to say
According to the Ursala administration, a unit has been setup from its level to provide good facilities to the patients. When a little budget was received from the government, this unit is being run on the lines of ICU. Many nursing staff have come here after working in private nursing homes. The Ursala administration has given the responsibility of running this unit to some of them nursing staff and doctors. Meanwhile, the government is also being informed again and again. But the shortage of trained staff and manpower persists.
not trained staff
If Ursala’s CMS is to be believed, then if she gets trained staff and main power, then she will be able to run the ICU better. If this happens, then the hands and feet that have to be added in front of the NGO for these works will not have to be added. Ursala has an anesthetist and two are on contract. Three walks to the OT and the hospital. Those who are 64-65 years old, whose health is also not good, for this the government has been written. We have written a letter to the government that we should be given anesthetist. Letters have been written many times but have not been given yet.
