To promote digital technology in the agriculture sector, three other institutions including Patanjali signed an agreement

New Delhi: The Ministry of Agriculture has tied up with four private institutions with the aim of promoting digital system for farmers and promoting technology in the management of agriculture sector. These include the Patanjali Bio Anusandhan Sansthan, an organization associated with Baba Ramdev. 

5 crore farmers database prepared
In view of the importance of digitization in agriculture, the Department of Agriculture, Ministry of Agriculture is preparing an integrated farmer database. Different services are being provided through this database so that a digital ecosystem can be created for the agriculture sector. There is a plan to link this database with the land records of farmers across the country so that unique Kisan ID can be issued to the farmers. So far, a database of details of about 5 crore farmers has been prepared.
