Delhi Airport: Flight operations will be started from Delhi’s Terminal T-2 at 1 pm on Thursday. IndiGo 2000-2999 series aircraft and all GoAir flights will fly from this terminal. The first flight will take off from 3 pm.
Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), the company that runs Delhi Airport, said that about 200 flights will fly daily from Terminal-2, of which there will be 100 arrival and 100 departure flights. This number of flights per day will be continuously increased and by the end of August, about 280 flights will be operated daily from Terminal-2.
Will start with 25000 passengers
DIAL has expressed the expectation that in the initial phase about 25,000 air passengers will use this terminal daily. A total of 27 counters have been set up at Terminal-2 for the convenience of the passengers. In which 11 counters are of Go Air and 16 counters are of Indigo Airlines. When Terminal-2 resumes, the first flight will leave at 3 pm on Thursday. This Indigo flight will fly from Delhi to Kolkata. After the relaxation of the lockdown, the number of air passengers at Delhi Airport has gradually increased, in view of which DIAL has now decided to start Terminal-2.
Follow all protocols of Corona
Dial CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuria said that in view of the threat of Kovid-19 at Terminal-2 starting from the night, all protocols are being followed. For the safety of the passengers, special care will be taken for social distancing and sanitization. Actually, the flight operation was started on 1 October 2020 after the first wave of Karona. Since then, the operation from Terminal-2 was stopped from 18 May 2021 in view of the lack of passengers and various reasons related to following the Corona protocol.
Survey boosted Dial’s encouragement
According to a survey conducted among the passengers of Delhi Airport, 99% of the passengers feel comfortable traveling from Delhi Airport. Of these, 51% found it very safe to come to Delhi airport while 48% felt safe.
Important information for passengers arriving at Terminal-2:
1. 10 e-Check-in Kiosks and 10 scanners have been installed at this terminal.
2. There will be thermal checking.
3. If there is a soft copy on the mobile then the printed boarding pass will not be required.
4. Auto dispenser sanitizers are installed.
5. Several queue managers and passenger assistants have also been appointed for the convenience of the passengers visiting Terminal-2.
