Lucknow: After leaving the monsoon session of Parliament, Rajnath Singh is going to Lucknow on July 21 to meet former UP CM Kalyan Singh. Kalyan Singh is undergoing treatment at SGPGI since last month. His health suddenly deteriorated last Saturday. He has been put on oxygen support due to difficulty in breathing and flatulence. Antibiotics and antifungal treatment has been started in view of the possibility of new infections and sepsis.
On getting information about Kalyan Singh’s ill health, CM Yogi Adityanath also came to meet him on Sunday. BJP President JP Nadda also took care of Kalyan Singh after reaching Lucknow by special plane. Then he also gave the message of PM Narendra Modi to him. During this meeting, the party’s organization general secretary BL Santosh and UP in-charge Radha Mohan Singh were also with him.
Once upon a time, Kalyan Singh was counted among the top three leaders of BJP in the country. He was considered the most powerful leader after former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee and Deputy PM Lal Krishna Advani. He was also the governor of states like Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan. He was the biggest leader of backward in BJP. When relations with Vajpayee deteriorated, he formed his own separate party. Named Jan Kranti Party. He was with Mulayam Singh Yadav in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections. But in this election, the support of Kalyan Singh was a loss deal for the Samajwadi Party. Angered by the friendship between Mulayam and Kalyan, Azam Khan parted ways with the Samajwadi Party.
