Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh will meet on Friday a three-member committee set up by Sonia Gandhi to resolve the Punjab Congress dispute. This meeting will be held at 11 am in the Congress War Room located at Gurdwara Rakabganj Road in Delhi.
In the last four days in the Congress War Room, this high-level committee has held a one-on-one meeting with all the MLAs, MPs of Punjab and all the prominent leaders of the state. In the meeting, the leaders told their mind about the government and the organization to the committee constituted by the high command.
According to sources, many leaders angry with the functioning of Captain Sarkar even put up a demand to replace him. Navjot Singh Sidhu, the biggest name among the angry leaders, had kept his point in front of the committee for an hour on Tuesday. Disgruntled leaders are putting Captain in the dock over the Guru Granth Sahib sacrilege case.
Now it is the turn of Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh. The Captain arrived in Delhi on Thursday afternoon. Some leaders of Punjab also met him at Kapurthala House in Delhi. It is believed that in the meeting with the committee, the Chief Minister will answer the questions arising on his work. There is also a possibility of discussion about changes in the organization and government.
On the other hand, before meeting the Captain, the members of the committee constituted by Sonia Gandhi, Mallikarjun Kharge, Harish Rawat, JP Agarwal spoke to Rahul Gandhi and Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal through video conferencing on Thursday evening. Rahul is constantly active regarding the Punjab issue. In the past, he had also talked to many MLAs on the phone.
