Mumbai Rain Forecast Update: The Southwest Monsoon is fully active across the country and it is raining heavily in most parts. A ‘Red Alert’ of rain has been issued for five districts of Maharashtra. According to the Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain in Mumbai and Konkan today. An orange alert has been issued for heavy to very heavy rain here. According to the Mumbai Center of IMD, there is a possibility of extremely heavy rains in Pune, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Kolhapur and Satara.
Red alert has been issued in these districts for Wednesday and Thursday. The department said that extremely heavy rain means that the above places may receive more than 204.5 mm of rain in 24 hours. According to the department, there may be light rain in Marathwada and Vidarbha regions of the state till Friday.
Heavy rain likely in west coastal areas till July 23
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rains in North India till July 21 and in the western coastal areas till July 23. The IMD said that during the next 24 hours, lightning, thunder and thundershowers are expected at isolated places over Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh and East Rajasthan.
Heavy to very heavy over western Himalayan region (Jammu Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit, Baltistan and Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand) and adjoining north-west Indo-Punjab, Haryana, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and northern parts of Madhya Pradesh till July 21 It is forecast to rain. After this, there will be a decrease in the rainfall activity in these areas.
