Lucknow: West Bengal Bharatiya Janata Party President Dilip Ghosh on Tuesday claimed that 166 BJP workers have made sacrifices in West Bengal in the last five years and 37 party workers have been killed in the state after the assembly election results.
The Uttar Pradesh unit of the BJP on Tuesday held a virtual discussion with its office bearers and workers about the post-assembly election environment in West Bengal and claimed that the Trinamool Congress (TMC) was spreading sponsored violence.
According to a statement issued from the BJP state headquarters, the party’s West Bengal unit president Dilip Ghosh discussed the topic ‘Blood soaked Bengal’ with the workers of Uttar Pradesh, in which BJP national vice-president and state in-charge Radha from BJP state headquarters Lucknow. Dilip Ghosh said that ‘Bengal is recognized as the land of revolutionaries, spiritual saints, social reformers, Rabindra Sangeet, Hari Sankirtan, the land of wide spiritual practice from Gangasagar to Kalighat and the land of sweets, but unfortunately today Bengal is soaked in blood, Bangabandhu. He said that when a BJP worker leaves home for party work in Bengal, he does not know whether he will reach home at night or not.
Ghosh also claimed, “In the last five years 166 BJP workers have made sacrifices, 37 party workers were killed after the assembly election results, over 30,000 fake cases were filed against our workers in five years.”
