When people are losing their jobs due to the Corona crisis, news of relief is coming from the country’s IT sector on the employment front. In fact, to meet the growing demand for technology services across the globe, according to industry estimates, the IT services sector is going to employ more than 150,000 fresh graduates in this financial year.

Significantly, the top four Indian IT companies have won big deals as global corporations increased spending on digital transformation after the pandemic. While TCS won the Prudential Financial deal, Infosys won the Daimler contract and Wipro won the deal from Metro AG. “Most (Indian IT) service companies have slowed down their fresher hiring in the last few years, while the utilization of these people has increased significantly during the pandemic,” said Karanth, adding that in the next 12-18 months, Karanth said. The demand for freshers is expected to increase. One reason for this is that hiring senior talent is expected to be very expensive in the current market conditions.
